What is emotion ?
情緒知多少 ?

Emotions are not only "joy, anger, sadness, happiness", but also "shock, fear, love, regret and jealousy", etc. There are both positive and negative emotions. Emotions hurt people not because of the emotions themselves, but the way they are expressed. It is healthy if you can express your emotions in the right way and the right situation. Therefore, knowing the type, nature, and origin of negative emotions can help communicate and channel emotions without hurting others or yourself.

情緒不單只是「喜、怒、哀、樂」,還有「驚、恐、愛、後悔和嫉妒」等等,有正面也有負面的情緒,情緒會傷害人不是因為情緒本身,而是表達情緒的方式,如果能以適當的方式,在適當的情境表達情緒,其實是健康的。所以認識負面情緒的類別、性質、來由,有助表達和疏導情緒,既不傷人也不害己。

Mental health is also a part of our health, being in excellent or continuous development and free from mental disorders in emotional and psychological, life, and social aspects. Stable emotions can help you improve your ability, increase positive feelings and create a positive cycle of health.

世界衞生組織指出,精神健康不只是「沒有精神疾患」,還包括「發揮個人潛能、應付日常生活壓力和有效率地工作及為社會作出貢獻」。精神健康也是我們健康的 其中一部分,在情緒和心理、 生活和社交等方面, 處於良好或持續發展的狀態且沒有精神疾患困擾。穩定的情緒更有助提升自己的能力,繼而讓情緒提升,進入正面且健康的循環。

*每年的10月10日是世界精神衞生日
